Our 2023 has been busy!!!
Besides being in and out of the studio and playing shows around town, we took on a BIG project in January.
Let me tell you the story of River:
This is River.

River was found stuck between two iron bars in a fence close to our practice space.
She looked very confused and had open wounds all over her body. Our best guess is she was wandering, got hit by a car, and ran into the fence thinking it was an escape route.
With the overpopulation of stray dogs in Texas, nobody had the capacity to help us. Rescues and shelters were brimming past full and their resources spread thin. We ended up taking her to BARC Houston (they get a bad rap because of the high euthanasia rate... but as a city run organization, they are required to give medical attention to all incoming injured animals). After knowing her, we recognized she has the sweetest temperament and deserves a chance to find a loving family.
And soooooo, we agreed to foster River.

Her healing journey was a long one, taking almost 4 months for all of her wounds to close and disappear.
She got lots of treats, toys, and rest during this time.

Her foster brother kept her company all the time.
Little by little, River's personality started to blossom. She had her first zoomies in late March and developed a love for swimming and sunbathing.

Her healing journey was long and difficult, but it was worth it. Soon, she will be meeting her fur-ever family as the sweet, happy go lucky dog that she is.
Thank you River for being a part of our lives.
It was an honor to meet and love you.
